It's the end of September, the light is changing, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is well and truly upon us...and yes, rain is forecast.

Regional titles over the weekend reported on the school secretaries industrial action, which is entering its third week. Our own Eileen Barry is quoted in the New Ross Standard.

The Four Day Week campaign continued to attract attention at the weekend. Joe O'Connor and ICE director Margaret Cox spoke to Ocean FM on Friday while Labour Senator Ged Nash made the case for the shorter working week on RTE's Saturday with Cormac Ó hEadhra (from 30:00). Elsewhere, the campaign draws criticism in the letters page of the Irish Times today.
