In talks
by Róisín McKane

Good morning folks,

This morning’s heavily-spun piece by Irish Times political correspondent Jennifer Bray, which conflates public service pay talks with possible State anti-inflation measures, suggests that movement on agreed social wage measures are more advanced than they are.

As we reported in Fórsa ebulletins last week, the two processes are separate, and there has been no talk of social wage measures – and certainly not tax cuts – in the WRC talks. Yesterday’s engagement was also covered by RTÉ, where Kevin Callinan appeared on the 6.01 News. The pay talks continue later today.
