Dear member,
We have been asked to share details of an upcoming demo in Waterford.
The demonstration takes place on Saturday 26th July. It is due to assemble at 1pm, and begin at 1.30pm at the Bishop's Palace.
The event is organised by the Waterford Coalition Against Fascism (WCAF), a broad, non-partisan alliance of community groups, trade unionists, political representatives, sporting and cultural organisations, educators, artists, faith leaders, and concerned residents.
WCAF said, "Together, we are organising a peaceful, positive, family-friendly gathering in Waterford City on Saturday, July 26th to stand against the rise of far-right extremism, disinformation, and scapegoating in our communities."
"This is not a protest against people’s genuine concerns about housing, healthcare, or the cost of living. We fully support the right to demand better — but we reject efforts to twist that anger into racism, fear, or hate."
Fórsa Director of Campaigns, Kevin Donoghue called on members to take part in the demonstration, saying "Fórsa proudly stands on the side of our colleagues and friends who face intimidation from the far-right. We hope our members will stand in Waterford and say 'no more' to the far-right."
Those who have questions about attending the event can contact Tosh Cowman at tcowman@forsa.ie.
Yours in solidarity,
Fórsa Campaigns
