Fórsa is urging its members to support the ‘global climate strike’ demonstrations in support of action on climate change, which will take place this Friday (20th September). The union has called on its 80,000 members to support planned lunchtime protests in over 60 towns and cities, including major events in Cork and Dublin.The Indo reports today.

As we headed into the weekend, there was breaking news that Fórsa has agreed to meet education department officials to discuss the issues behind industrial action by school secretaries, which is set to commence next Friday (20^th September). The meeting will take place on Wednesday. While Fórsa is happy to talk, head of education Andy Pike says the union does not detect a change of heart from the other side of the table.
