Q'uest que c'est?
by Niall Shanahan

Good morning colleagues,

There's Fórsa news in the Irish Times business section this morning as Barry O'Halloran reports on Lisa Connell's message to Aer Lingus cabin crew members last week to warn about the airline's disciplinary investigation procedures.

In other news this morning, Mediahuis (owners of the Indo titles) has temporarily suspended the former head of its Irish media wing from his current role with the publisher, after he "wrongly put words into people's mouths" through the use of AI. Elsewhere, Emmet Ryan writes about AI literacy and its deployment in the workplace, and how businesses 'need to view AI deployments': "This is not simply a matter of automation but a redesign of work itself, with AI being used as an assistant to workers."

Elsewhere, a tourist tax of up to €5 a night could be charged at Dublin hotels, putting them on a par with those in Venice, according to an evaluation from Dublin City Council

Meanwhile, Harry McGee's analysis, of the Government's possible approach to conflict-driven fuel price hikes, is to expect Government to reduce petrol pump prices next week, "but no one-off payments planned" while wholesale gas prices climb.

Your Zen double bill this morning is prompted by my colleague Hannah Deasy's personal account of CMAT's triumphant London show last weekend, where she debuted a new video for Jamie Oliver Petrol Station, featuring the man himself and "making no sense to the average listener", but that's how we like it. At the same time I was in a packed Point Depot watching the inimitable David Byrne...Q'uest que c'est?

Have a lovely weekend
