Bus Éireann staff could take industrial action over pay dispute, according to the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU). Unions including the NBRU will meet Bus Éireann management to hold talks over pay at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) later on this morning.
The Irish Independent reports on Government plans for a new scheme which would give both parents an extra two weeks' leave each, worth €235 per week, in the first year of a newborn child's life.
The Irish Times reports that a new ESRI study (to be published shortly) found decisions made over the last 10 budgets have resulted in lower disposable incomes for women with children than their male equivalents, due to changes in child benefit and other welfare payments.
Storm Helene brought heavy rain overnight, particularly effecting the west and north-west. Met Éireann has issued a national yellow wind warning for Wednesday and have also warned of local flooding in Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
