Thousands of people from every generation took to the streets of Dublin over the weekend to highlight the housing crisis. Students, pensioners, workers and parents all voiced their concerns over the shortage of housing, with demonstrators calling for immediate action.

The protest followed the latest release of the number of people in emergency accommodation nationwide, which surpassed 11,000 last month, the highest number ever recorded. The number of children dependent on homeless accommodation also increased, rising to 3,480 children.
