Minister Finian McGrath TD to Launch new Fórsa Disability Rights Network

The launch of the Fórsa Disability Rights Network will take place on Saturday 6th April at 11am at Fórsa's Nerney's Court Office. The event will be opened by Minister of State for Disabilities

Mr Finian McGrath TD.

 

This new Equality Network will provide a forum for members across the union to meet and discuss issues relevant to disability rights in the workplace. This national meeting is the second in a series of new Equality Networks to be established by the Equality Committee over the coming months.

 

The meeting will be of interest to Fórsa members living with a disability, members working to provide disability services and activists with an interest in disability rights .

 

The programme for the event is as follows: 

  • 11.00 Registration
  • 11.30 Opening remarks and welcome by Fórsa President Anne McGee
  • 11.35 Address by Minister Finian McGrath TD followed by questions and answers
  • 12.30 Address by Ms. Siobhan Barron Chair of the National Disability Authority
  • 13.00 Lunch
  • 13.45 Address by Ms Barbara Martin - Irish Congress of Trade Unions – ‘Mental health in the  workplace – a personal reflection’
  • 14.15 Plenary discussion lead by Andy Pike National Secretary on building a disability rights network within Fórsa
  • 15.00 Close
