Fórsa, the INMO SIPTU and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) are to a lodge a pay claim for thousands of workers employed in the voluntary and community sector. The group are also seeking to establish an appropriate collective bargaining forum for the sector where pay, terms and funding can be properly established.


Medical laboratory scientists have voted overwhelmingly to take industrial action including to go on strike in a long-running dispute over pay. The Medical Laboratory Scientists Association (MLSA) said any industrial action could take place early next year.

 

Elsehwere, Irish Rail has announced plans to spend more than €5m on security this year as antisocial behaviour worsens.

The number of homes available for rent across Ireland has dropped to an “all-time low” leading to further price spikes around the country, according to Daft.ie.
