The Times reports that Government is set to allocate significantly increased capital funding for housing, but has committed itself to difficult deficit-reduction targets in the coming years with the publication of the summer economic statement last night.

The substantial cost of rolling out the Covid digital certificate is up for discussion in this morning’s Examiner.

The Dáil has passed the Government's legislation on the reopening of indoor hospitality. It will allow bars, restaurants and cafés to resume indoor service for those who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or who have recovered from the disease in the last six months.

Ryanair confirmed last night that it will fly the Dublin-Kerry service, which was lost when Stobart Air ceased trading, clearing confusion that followed an announcement last week.

Unite has criticised the RSA for conducting live driving test training, calling it “unsafe practice” during Covid-19. The RSA has begun training newly appointed driver testers in order to tackle the backlog of people currently waiting on a driving test.
