The three unions representing staff working in community and voluntary sector agencies funded by the HSE - Fórsa, the INMO and SIPTU - have confirmed the unions will attend the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) on Monday 17th April. Unions are looking to improve the long-standing problem of pay terms for staff working in HSE-funded agencies providing health and care services.  You can read our press release HERE which was picked up by RTE

 

New figures show that about €1.52 billion of the department’s capital budget went unspent between 2020 and 2022, including just over €1 billion intended for social and affordable housing.The figures were obtained in response to parliamentary queries by Sinn Féin housing spokesman Eoin Ó Broin. They show the department’s underspend in housing amounted to €92 million in 2020; €441 million in 2021; and €471 million last year.  

 

Ireland’s ‘triple lock’ policy for deploying the Defence Forces overseas will be examined and debated at this summer’s National Consultative Forum on Ireland’s security policy according to the Irish Times. The 'triple lock' policy means troops will not be deployed without the approval of the Government and the Dáil and the backing of a United Nations resolution.
