The Shamus

In today's Indo, Anne-Marie Walsh reports that Fórsa is pushing for the extension of four-day week trials for its members. Elsewhere, it's reported that retired community supervisors are to receive agreed gratuity payments in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Unison and Nipsa members begin limited industrial action today, ahead of a one-day strike next Monday (12th).

The Labour Employer Economic Forum (LEEF) is to meet today. The ICTU delegation will be led by Kevin Callinan, and takes place as it's reported that corporate tax receipts for the year are now likely to surpass the Department of Finance’s own forecasts, and hit a record €23 billion for 2022.

Zen

I had to rest for a few days last week following a trip to the infirmary. I supplemented my recuperation with a couple of old movies, including this classic with Bogart and Bacall, from the pen of Raymond Chandler. The dialogue still snaps and crackles 76 years on.

Have a good week. Wrap up warm.

Niall
