Almost two thirds of nurses who have recovered from Covid-19 are still experiencing post-viral fatigue, the INMO has said. According to a recent survey by the union, of the 545 respondents who said they had recovered from the virus, 497 (91%) stated they continued to experience symptoms, which also included mental health difficulties, headaches and breathing problems.

 

The much anticipated ‘green travel’ list was published last night of countries from which people can travel without having to restrict their movements upon arriving in Ireland. You can find out which countries have been deemed safe here, though the official government advice still remains to avoid non-essential travel wherever possible.

A report published by the Health Information and Quality Authority (Hiqa) yesterday detailed 44 risk inspections at centres that had outbreaks since 27 May. It revealed none of the nursing homes inspected were found to be fully compliant with regulations that were assessed and half of these nursing homes were rated as non-compliant with infection prevention and control regulations.

 

Ryanair is to close its base at Frankfurt Hanh Airport and will likely close bases at Berlin Tegel and Duesseldorf airports at the end of the summer, after German pilots rejected proposed pay cuts.

 

Women, young people, and parents of children under five have been hardest hit psychologically by the Covid-19 lockdown, research suggests. A General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) assessing the severity of a mental health problem over the previous few weeks also showed increasing distress across the population in April.
