Show your support for Perfusionists! Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd July

Dear member,

This week, members of our health and welfare division will resume their industrial action in a dispute over the HSE's failure to implement a Labour Court recommendation regarding their pay.

Can you join them on the picket this week? We are asking members to attend one of the two demonstrations taking place later this week to show this group of members that their union colleagues have their back.

Photos

While members are welcome to drop in at any time during the scheduled protests, we encourage you to attend at the specific times listed below to take part in a solidarity photograph.

  • We will be arranging a photo for picketers and their supporters at 12.30pm.

Friday 3rd July, 10am– 12pm - HSE HQ, Dr Steevens Hospital, Dublin 8

  • A protest will be held between 10:00am and 12:00pm.
  • We will be arranging a photo for picketers and their supporters at 11.30am.
  • The gathering point will be in front of the HSE headquarters at Dr Steeven’s and across the road from Heuston Station.

Who are perfusionists?

Perfusionists are highly skilled healthcare professionals who support the patient’s vital functions during complex surgical procedures.

What is the dispute about?

The dispute arises from the HSE’s unilateral decision to break a long-standing pay link between perfusionists and medical scientists, and its subsequent refusal to implement a Labour Court recommendation issued in January this year to restore that link.

How can this dispute be resolved?

The HSE must implement the Labour Court recommendation without delay.

How can you support the dispute?

Show up to the planned actions on Thursday 2nd July or Friday 3rd July, and for the scheduled photos in particular.

Kind regards,
