Limerick FC players will meet tomorrow to discuss possible strike action over unpaid wages, with chairman Pat O'Sullivan saying he has no idea if they will proceed with the measure.

The First Division club have not paid their five professionals wages on time this year and expenses are also outstanding for the remainder of the squad.

Speaking to RTÉ Sport outside the FAI campus in Abbotstown, O’Sullivan said: "The club will be fine. Don't worry about it. The club will be fine."

He added he believes a long-awaited takeover of the club will go through.

The club owner would not be drawn any further on the matter.

Limerick had severe financial problems last year and were relegated following a play-off defeat to Finn Harps.
