As reported by the Irish Independent on Saturday over 200,000 public sector pensioners are set for increases if the proposed pay agreement is accepted. Pensioners have received a 1% increase from Saturday and will receive a further 3% if the public pay deal is accepted.

 

The British minister of state for Northern Ireland Steve Baker has apologiesd for failing to understand that Irish Government's concerns during Brexit negotiations. The former chair of the European Research Group revealed he had apologiesd in person to some leading Irish figures.

 

Pope Francis made his first direct public appeal to Vladamir Putin to end the 'spiral of violence and death' caused by his invasion of Ukraine. It comes after president Zylensky announced his country's military have liberated Lyman, two days after Putin announced sovereignty over the partially occupied province.
