Coming over here
by Niall Shanahan

Good morning colleagues,

This morning's front pages include lead stories in the Irish Examiner and Irish S*n about a scheme to offer 'sweeteners' to workers, potentially worth thousands of euro, to relocate from big cities to rural towns.

Daniel McConnell's front page story in the Examiner says the Our Rural Future plan, to be unveiled by the Government later today, will also see a major “de-centralisation” of more than 68,000 public workers (20%) from main offices on a permanent basis by the end of the year.

Coverage in the Irish Times of that story says there's to be a focus on using the rollout of high-speed broadband to rural areas to develop opportunities in areas such as e-health, remote learning and online trading, while the Indo specifies that 'sweeteners' will take the form of relocation grants and tax incentives.
