The Government has been warned that protests against accommodation for asylum seekers could escalate amid tensions within the Coalition over the response to the migration crisis. This was discussed on Morning Ireland.

The surge in the cost of living is driving motorists to cut back heavily in key areas, a new survey has found. These areas include deliberately cutting back on mileage, skipping or delaying their cars service and putting off buying a new car. 

 

The home of the popular Metro Cafe on Dublin’s South William Street has been acquired by a private Irish investor with its adjoining premises on Chatham Row for €2.35 million.

 

The Garda ‘thin blue line’ is getting threadbare amid difficulties with recruitment and retention, the Garda Representative Association (GRA) has warned. Ronan Slevin, deputy general secretary of the body, told RTÉ Radio 1’s Morning Ireland there are 700 fewer gardaí now than there were in 2020 and that recruitment targets have been missed repeatedly.
