Here's what they're saying on the front pages today.

The news from Palestine is grim and shocking. In its editorial, the Irish Times says the world "must not look away": The contrast was grotesque. As Israeli and American dignitaries stood smiling on a platform in Jerusalem, hailing the transfer of the US embassy to the city as a step towards peace, dozens of Palestinians were being gunned down by Israeli snipers at the fortified fence that keeps them in Gaza.

Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian rights, writes that the best response to illegal Israeli killings is to support the boycott.

Elsewhere, you'll recall I brought you this story yesterday, about the Taoiseach's (characteristically mischievous) suggestion of an adjustment to PSSA pay improvements to fund a solution to new entrants pay. Well, someone took the bait. Nevertheless, Martin Wall's report states: Highly-placed public service union sources said no such proposal had been tabled by the Government. They said any move to change elements of the deal, which was negotiated last year and came into effect in January, would have to involve a re-ballot of union members. I'm taking that to read nothing to see here.

In other news, it's reported that HSE structural reform is to be considered by Cabinet, Patsy McGarry gives a fairly accurate take on last night's shambolic referendum debate on RTE, and there's a feature asking if secondary schools are using “soft barriers” to turn away students with special needs.
