Fórsa invites you to attend a special member event on the upcoming auto-enrolment pension system — which will be a major change to how workers in Ireland will save for retirement.

Chaired by ICTU Head of Social Policy & Employment Affairs, Dr Laura Bambrick, this seminar will take place at 11am on Tuesday 9 December  2025 in Fórsa HQ, Nerney's Court, Dublin 1.

Why This Matters:

Auto-enrolment is a new scheme designed to increase retirement savings among Irish workers. The goal is to ensure that all employees have access to a pension, particularly those who are not already enrolled in a workplace scheme.

From 1st January 2026, workers not already in an occupational pension scheme will be automatically enrolled in a new retirement savings system. Here’s what you should know:

• Mandatory participation: Eligible workers aged 23–60 earning over €20,000/year will be automatically enrolled.
• Employer & State contributions: For every €3 you contribute, your employer adds €3, and the State tops it up with €1.
