Ryanair said today that it has agreed a four-year pay deal with the Fórsa union and its Irish pilots.

Under the terms of the deal, Ryanair's Irish pilots will receive an accelerated restoration of pay cuts previously agreed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ryanair said the pay cuts will now be fully restored in the pilots' December wages.

Today's agreement also includes three years of pay increases spread over the next four years up to March 2027.

This agreement with Fórsa and Ryanair's Irish pilots was facilitated by talks that took place last week at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).

Ryanair's People Director Darrell Hughes said the new pay deal brings the airline's Irish pilots into line with similar pay restoration deals concluded with its other pilot unions across Europe over the past nine months.

"We are grateful for the assistance of the WRC in reaching this sensible agreement with Fórsa and our Irish pilots," he added.

Fórsa said it would ballot its airline pilot members on the proposals with a recommendation to vote in favour of the agreement.

"The outcome of these pay discussions marks a positive outcome to the process, and I wish to acknowledge the WRC for its invaluable assistance in bringing talks to a conclusion," said Ian McDonnell, Fórsa assistant general secretary.

"The new collective agreement provides for improved pay and certainty for pilots over the next four years and preparations for a ballot of our members on the terms of this proposed agreement are now under way," he added.

Ryanair had been hit by significant pilot strikes in 2018 and it experienced minor disruption from strikes by cabin crew last summer.
