RTÉ reports that school secretaries and caretakers are "frustrated and disappointed" at the Government's failure to table concrete proposals to address low pay, job insecurity and inadequate pensions in their grades.

 

A new mandatory system of re-vetting people working with children every three years is being considered by the Department of Justice. If introduced. it which would involve an obligation on an employer or voluntary organisation to make a new application three years after the original vetting had been carried out.

 

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan is expected to give fresh advice to Government on the use of the Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca vaccines. Read more on that here.

Our zen this morning is a heart-warming tale of Holly the dog, who escaped from her owners at at track and field event and went on to win the race. Holly clocked the final 100m in about 10.5 seconds, which is 1 second behind Usain Bolt’s world record.
