Unite the union has launched its new survey results today to mark World Menopuase Day, which state 28% of respondents had suffered financial impact from taking time off due to menopause or menstruation issues. 95% of respondents also said they would welcome workplace menstrual health policies. Opposition parties have called for trade unions to support workers who refuse to handle Israeli goods, as moves towards a legislative ban on goods from Israeli-occupied territories appears to have stalled. Israels recent attacks have shed fresh light on the Occupied Territories bill, which passed a number of stages in the Oireachtas but has not become law. The Gazan Health Ministry yesterday said at least 500 people has been killed in a hospital explosion caused by an Israeli air strike.

Meanwhile, the Government has agreed the payment dates for energy credits and extra welfare payments which were included in the cost of living package in last week's Budget. Lump sum welfare payments will start to be paid on the week beginning Monday, 20th November. These will include the €400 Working Family Payment, the €400 Disability Support Grant and the €300 Fuel Allowance top-up.

And a record 70,727 students across the country are set to receive their Junior Cert results today. It is the first time that the number of candidates has exceeded 70,000, a 5% increase on 2022.
