Wellies were a must on the opening day of the 2023 National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Co Laois. President Michael D Higgins opened the event by outlining challenges facing the farming sector, saying there was “no doubt whatsoever” that there will be “big changes” in diet arising from climate change and cost of living pressures.
