As we headed into the weekend Fórsa's Education division received correspondence from the Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, Jospeha Madigan TD, that included a commitment to consider the accreditation of the SNA national training programme at UCD. Over the weekend the Irish Times political editor Pat Leahy sets the scene, and defined what's at stake, for the 'intricate dance' of public service pay talks: "Agreement is possible rather than probable, and failure to strike a deal would result in a series of pay claims and – most likely – industrial disputes across the public sector." Well worth a read.
