When one door closes
by Bernard Harbor

New CSO figures show that a third of workers have no occupational pension, and the Indo has uncovered a €78 million hole in the credit unions' staff pension fund.

Meanwhile, RTÉ reports that the Fórsa-Siptu local employment campaign is heading for An Taoiseach's constituency office later today, while the Times brings us this on Micheal Martin's working class roots.

In other news, a new plan for the national parks and wildlife service is being prepared for Cabinet, home helps are in line to get the one-grand Covid bonus, and there are concerns over delayed cancer diagnoses.

On the opinion pages, the paper of record editorialises that "the argument about remote working has already been won," despite union disappointment over legislation published earlier this week. Elsewhere, a new study puts Ireland up front on demand for home working.

Finally, this morning's rather expansive 'Not A Good Look' section brings us more on champagne at the DFA, a Robert Watt Dubai trip, suspended Gardaí, and redundant civilian drivers still on payroll.

Nevertheless, I'm confident that this short, instructional Zen will open some doors for you. Activate the 'CC' icon in the bottom panel first, unless you understand Finnish.

Enjoy the weekend.
