Singapore Airlines has announced it will pay staff a bonus of around eight months’ salary after posting a record annual profit. That's thanks to a formula based on a deal with its staff union, and the airlines' record profits. It also includes an extra bonus of up to 1.5 months, which senior management won't get. Back here, the Examiner continues to report on Fórsa’s concern for its members at Cork University Hospital (CUH) after it was revealed that some of the external PwC consultants were giving directions to CUH staff and attending operational meetings.


The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has announced that it is ready to move forward with the reintroduction of ospreys to Ireland this summer. Ospreys are a fish-eating bird of prey that became extinct in Ireland 150 years ago. The NPWS has researched and prepared for the potential reintroduction of these birds for a number of years and expects the arrival of the first 12 osprey chicks in July.


The Financial Services Union (FSU) will today urge TDs and senators to consider new regulations and legislation to cover the technological surveillance of staff by their employers. The FSU will highlight the findings of a recent survey of its members which showed that employees had negative attitudes towards surveillance. They viewed it as demoralising, stressful and indicating a lack of trust by employers.
