Neither the government nor the public sector trade unions got what they wanted out of pay talks at the Workplace Relations Commission, according to Forsa.

However, unions acknowledge the proposal put forward by the WRC after 19 hours of talks was the best on offer through negotiations.

It will see a 6.5 per cent increase over the next 16 months, with individual unions to consult with members ahead of a vote on October 7th.
