Airplanes and bicycle thieves

The Irish Times was a little more downbeat on that, emphasising the prospect of further job losses. But it confirmed that wage supports are in play, and also reports that an Irish-UK travel bubble (also sought by Fórsa) is imminent.

Meanwhile, Fórsa's reaction edged intoreports of a new National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) report on remote working, while strong coverage of the union's local government conference continued. We had this from Newstalk Breakfast on the four-day week, while the Indo caught up with the Irish Water story.

Elsewhere, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown council is offering businesses subsidised cargo bikes, as the Journal and others report that almost 7,000 bicycles were thieved during the pandemic. Sorry that was the wrong link: Try this

In economic news, the Government doubles-down on its 'no tax rises' message, prices are on the rise again, Irish income inequality was at its lowest just prior to the pandemic, and the FSU wants proposed tax breaks for the digital games industry tied to decent pay and conditions.

International reports remain dominated by the escalating Israeli attacks on Gaza, and related stories and analysis.

Roxy-Zen this morning, as we wish Paul Thompson a happy 70th birthday. Together with some classic seventies Top Of The Pops crowd scenes, this clip perfectly showcases the man's hod-carrying back-beat holding together the more-famous flouncy fancies of messers Eno and Ferry.

Mind the buses.
