A large number of childcare providers across the country are expected to close for three days from today in protest over what owners describe as a shortfall in Government funding.

 

Opposing views on legalising assisted dying are to be heard at an Oireachtas committee meeting today.

 

Irish semi-state and public bodies are the most attractive employers for professionals working in Ireland, according to new research from Universum, which is part of IrishJobs.

 

The Tánaiste is pushing to reduce the length of teacher training courses by a year in a bid to lure more people into the profession. Amid a severe shortage of teachers, Micheál Martin also wants top-up payments re-introduced for additional teaching qualifications.

 

The director of the National Women's Council of Ireland (NWC) has said  the wording of a referendum into the role of women in the home needs to be well thought out and that sufficient time must be given for the public to consider any proposed changes.
