Words for breakfast
by Niall Shanahan

Good morning colleagues,

As we kick off a new week here's a look at the front pages for Monday 23rd April.

The Irish Times leads with 'Big pay rises may be on the way for newer public servants', as unions are set to meet with government officials on Friday to discuss resolution of the additional two pay scale points for new entrants. The IT report says resolving the issue could be worth €3,300 on average to those taken on after 2011.

This follows a few days after Fórsa called on the Government to allocate funds in October’s Budget to begin shortening pay scales for public service ‘new entrants’ next year.
