RTÉ reports that there is no indication Siptu and HSE management will return to the WRC or engage at the Labour Court today, ahead of planned strike action by 10,000 health support staff tomorrow (Thursday) in a dispute over pay. It's also reported that parties are engaging at local level to prepare contingency arrangements to minimise disruption.

 

Minister for Health Simon Harris will today bring to Government the Heads of the Bill to establish an alternative process for women affected by the CervicalCheck controversy. The bill is to establish a tribunal, and the minister said he hoped to have the legislation passed before the summer recess.

 

The ESB has said no decisions have been made in relation how much it will charge motorists to use their public charging network for electric cars moving forward, following the Government's announcement that it aims to bring 950,000 electric vehicles into circulation as part of the Climate Action Plan. A spokesperson said an announcement on the introduction of pricing plans will be made later in the year.

 

The Irish Examiner reports that a number of organisations and individual campaigners have written to the Oireachtas justice committee calling for radical changes to Ireland's direct-provision system. It comes ahead of final discussions on the issue in the committee today, before it publishes a report on the topic.
