Coalition on rebound?

The three Coalition parties have seen a rebound in support since the summer, with voters taking a more positive view of the Government and of the country's prospects according to an Irish Times Opinion poll. It also found that Sinn Féin remains by far the most popular party.

 

A scramble is under way to find new accomodation for Ukranian refugees due to arrive in the country this weekend, amid growing alarm across Government about the lack of beds available.

 

A new survey from The Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) has found that two-thirds of international students in Ireland believe the housing crisis has negatively impacted their mental health.

 

A UN report has warned that global temperatures are set to rise by 2.5% by the end of the century, a level that would condemn the world to catastrophic climate breakdown.

 

Fines for 16 road offences including speeding and not wearing a seatbelt are set to double in cost from 80 - 160 today.
