Your voice matters – have your say on morale in the workplace

Dear Member,

Your union wants to hear from you. We have drafted this survey, in collaboration with TASC (Think Tank for Action on Social Change) to canvass your views on morale and confidence in the health sector and how this has changed over the past two years.

Your participation in this survey, along with that of your colleagues, will play a crucial role in advocating for effective consultation with staff around workforce planning.

We need a health service built for patients and communities, that respects and supports the staff that make that happen.

Why should you respond to our survey?

The HSE has consistently refused to engage with staff  regarding its Pay and Numbers Strategy and employment restrictions, including the reduction in headcount in our health services over the past two years.

The Pay and Numbers Strategy, which followed a sudden recruitment moratorium across the HSE, has led to the loss of thousands of previously sanctioned and funded healthcare posts, leaving services and staff struggling to fill the gaps in an already under-resourced system.

Many of your colleagues have shared their experiences of the detrimental impact this is having on service provision including on growing waiting lists, but also on the workplace experience and morale of staff.

Reduced staffing and resources, and failure to listen to staff concerns, is having a significantly negative impact on both the working lives of healthcare workers and the quality of care provided to patients. Our members’ ability to deliver safe services has been severely compromised due to the chaotic actions of management.

This survey is open to Fórsa members working in the HSE, Tusla, Section 38 organisations and Section 39 community and voluntary sector organisations.

We urge you to please fill out the survey, which can be found here.

The survey will close Midnight Monday 7th April.

Please pass this survey along to Fórsa colleagues in your workplace.

Yours in solidarity,

Fórsa Health and Welfare
