Dawn Chorus
by Niall Shanahan

The Irish Independent picked up this story from Friday's Education bulletin about breastfeeding breaks for SNAs, while Congress welcomed the publication of the Citizens’ Assembly recommendations on gender equality as "a very good day for working women and for future generations of workers."

Cianan Brennan puts the OPW's management of its property portfolio under the spotlight, concluding systemic "incompetence and unaccountability.", and the Irish Times probes the "union versus union versus management" dynamic currently at play at the ESB.

Of the stories making it to the front pages this morning, the Covid news from India is the most distressing, while the wanton destruction of Killarney National Park just boils the blood.

Elsewhere, the BBC reports on the grim situation facing Myanmar's frontline medical staff, torn between treating their patients and working for a military government enforcing a brutal crackdown across the country, while RTE reports that Ryanair has said it's considering cancelling a number of Irish routes as a result of the mandatory hotel quarantine system

Your Zen this morning is, I think, a real treat. Glendalough Photo Post is a film and photography project by artist Frank Corry in collaboration with Wicklow Mountains National Park, and I have featured his work here before. The photo above is from his collection and was taken last Friday. If you click on the image you're in for a pretty blissful two minutes and twenty seconds, which I hope might set the tone for your week ahead. Listen out for the dawn chorus with raven, mallard and mountain goat kids.

Breathe it all in and have a good week.
