Cody Coda
by Bernard Harbor

Shay rose to the dizzy heights of general secretarydom soon after the crisis hit but, thankfully, we're in a better place right now.

And I was further reminded of his tenacity earlier this week, when I tripped over a box marked '2004 merger talks.' Again, happier times prevailed, though it's safe to say that his career didn't pass without some controversies.

In more workaday news, the Central Bank says a hard Brexit could deflate house prices, the HSE's back in bother over cervical screening, and watch out for a Government cave-in over the PNA dispute now that Simon Harris has criticised the association.

While we're saying our sayonaras, Ryanair's Peter Bellew has been spotted in the departure lounge amid warnings of turbulence at the airline.

Adieu, too, to Brendan Grace and Noel Whelen, whose sad deaths were announced a little late for yesterday's Digest.

So, back to Shay. Aside from the union stuff, his erudition in matters of music, GAA, history, politics and the rest left me kinda stumped on the Digest's penultimate sentence. But once again t'was Cody to the rescue, and today's Zen comes courtesy of the man himself.

See you where the sausages sizzle and the burgers burn.

The end. The end of an era, in fact.
