Dear members,
In July, the HSE announced the lifting of the recruitment embargo, in place for a year, coinciding with the long-awaited release of its pay and numbers strategy.
What they didn't say, however, was that any position that was unfilled on the 31st December 2023 is now unlikely to be replaced, even if it was previously funded and approved.
The HSE took this unilateral decision without consulting Fórsa or any trade union.
To make matters worse they have refused to share data with Fórsa as to how many funded and approved vacancies have been lost.
So, we have launched a members’ survey to gather information on the number of vacancies that exist and the impact these vacancies have on you and the services you provide.
Can you tell us how unfilled posts are impacting your work?

The more members who complete the survey the more information we will have on how the HSE’s unilateral decision to get rid of funded posts is impacting you, your colleagues, and the services you deliver.
We’ll be able to tell the HSE exactly what’s happening and push back.
To encourage more members to take part in the survey you can print this poster and display it in your workplace.
The survey is anonymous and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. It’s open now and will close on Monday 2nd September 2024.
Thank you,
Ashley Connolly
