A new research and advocacy group, Home for Good as been established as part of the ICTU backed Raise The Roof campaign. The group will campaign on constitutional issues relating to the right to a home, including holding a referendum on the issue.

 

The Dáil will continue debating an Omnibus Bill to prepare Ireland for a no-deal Brexit today. The Bill to deal with a disorderly Brexit must pass all stages in the Oireachtas by Friday 15th March, ahead of the 29th March Brexit deadline.

 

Scouting Ireland is seeking 'urgent engagement' with Tusla, after Minister for Children Katherine Zappone told the Dáil yesterday that Tusla had highlighted serious concerns about child protection procedures in Scouting Ireland.

 

The number of people homeless and living in emergency accommodation across the State reached a record high in January. The latest figures from the Department of Housing show the figure now stands just below 10,000.

 

The number of data breaches reported to the Data Protection Commission increased by 70% last year, following the introduction of new data protection rules. The watchdog was notified of 4,740 breaches during 2018, with 3,542 of those lodged after the GDPR came into force in May.
