As we entered the weekend, the Indo and RTE picked up Fórsa's statement about upcoming public service pay talks, while the effects of current Fórsa action in the HSE is felt in Mayo.

Elsewhere, RTE reports that the fourth annual National Remote Working Survey has revealed that 44% of workers would change job, even if it means taking a pay cut, if their remote working preferences are not facilitated. 

The Irish Times reports that some schools have warned the Department of Education they may be forced to take emergency measures such as keeping classes at home in the face of acute difficulties sourcing qualified teachers. In the same paper, Kitty Holland writes that serious “shortcomings” in how women and children in the State are protected from violence and murder are identified in a Council of Europe report published today. 

Meanwhile, Euronews reports that some 3,347 workplace fatalities were recorded across the EU in 2021, according to data from Eurostat, with Latvia and Lithuania logging the highest fatal accident rates.
