The Times covered the ongoing industrial action at Emerald Airlines over the weekend, reporting that Aer Lingus had pledged its future regional franchisee would recognise the pilots’ trade union, as far back as 2020.

 

Staff at Tara Mines are to be balloted this week on an agreement reached between Boliden management and unions in relation to the temporary closure of the facility.

RTÉ dominates headlines again this morning as Kevin Bakhurst takes up the Director General post. In his first move he is to ‘stand down’ the executive team and establish register of interests.

Construction activity in Ireland increased in June for the first time since September of last year, albeit slightly.

 

And finally, the number of medicines in short supply has reached a new record high of 307, according to the latest Medicine Shortages Index. Ninety-five medicines have joined the list since January and it has grown by 81% in the past year.
