Gardaí have cancelled their Child Rescue alert, as missing teenager Svetlana Murphy has been found safe and well in the Belfast area. She is currently in the custody of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), and will be reunited with her family tonight.  

 
ESB Networks has said it intends to take legal action in relation to a dispute involving network technicians who are scheduled to stage a 24-hour strike on Friday. The technicians concerned are members of a trade union which is not recognised by the company – the Independent Workers Union. More on that here. 

 

Meanwhile, SIPTU has called for an urgent meeting with the main contractors at the Intel Leixlip construction site following a Covid-19 outbreak there.

The vaccination programme is to be rolled out to Dublin’s homeless population next week despite setbacks with the one-dose Johnson & Johnson jab.  Health officials had previously indicated the J&J vaccine could be used for vulnerable, harder to reach groups in Ireland due to its one-shot dosage.

Nursing home visits are to increase from two per week to four per week where 80% of residents are fully vaccinated, after updated advice from NPHET and the HPSC.
