Good morning.

Morning folks, here's the news:

Fórsa is to ballot members in section 39 organisations for industrial action, following the collapse of talks on the restoration of pay cuts. This also follows Siptu's announcement that it's members in section 39 organisations will take strike action on Tuesday, September 18th.

Our statement yesterday on further strike action at Ryanair on the 3rd August is available here. There is plenty of media coverage around yesterday's developments, with spokespeople for Fórsa appearing on all the big name television and radio programs. You can find more information on the latest developments here.

Dublin’s first ever Trans Pride Parade will take place this weekend, which organisers hope will give momentum to the trans rights movement in Ireland. Our e-bulletin story on the event from Tuesday is available here.

The Irish Times reports on the increasing number of health and safety checks taking place on farms.

Finally folks, today's zen is an epic 26-kick penalty shootout between Manchester United and AC Milan in a preseason friendly, which is most notable as those committed enough to tune in probably stopped watching because it was an incredibly boring game.

That's all for now.
