And...go!
by Niall Shanahan

During the Christmas break there were a number of reports in many regional media titles that the Government has agreed to attend the WRC to discuss the pay claim by Fórsa and Siptu on behalf of CE supervisors and assistant supervisors.

Meanwhile, it was reported on New Year's Day that conciliation talks at the WRC between the ICTU group of unions and Aer Lingus has yielded potential pay improvements of more than 10%.

Elsewhere, recruitment experts are saying that employees who previously sought shorter working hours are now applying for full-time roles, particularly those with an option to work remotely.

You may have heard the news that exchequer revenue has had an unexpected €5bn boost, five times the Budget day estimate last September. In the Indo, Sarah Collins sought a range of views on how the extra funds should be utilised, with ICTU chief Owen Reidy proposing employers’ PRSI reform.
