Attitudes to immigrants coming into Ireland became more negative during the recession and are now lower than the Western European average, a new report commissioned by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission has revealed.

 

Two key campaigners for the homeless, Sr Stanislaus Kennedy and Fr Peter McVerry, issued a joint statement last night as the latest figures show there are now almost 10,000 people homeless across Ireland, including 3,755 children.

 

The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Children and Youth Affairs is making recommendations in a new report calling for a digital safety commissioner to help protect children online.

 

Tusla’s Corporate Plan 2018–2020  was launched yesterday. While the 2017 civil service employee engagement survey results were also launched.
