Fight for survival

The Irish Times reports on Fórsa’s call for menstrual and menopause friendly workplace polices, as part of the larger discussion surrounding women’s health.

Irish news ran two pieces over the weekend citing Fórsa’s comments and dispute over the disruption in Aer Lingus routes following Brexit. You can find them here and here. The Belfast Telegraph also picked up on the same on Saturday.

The Irish Nursing and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has warned that the Mater Hospital are facing dangerous understaffing ahead of the winter.

Staff at Dublin City University (DCU) are in dispute with the college over the terms of its remote working plans, with Siptu raising concerns over the arrangement.

Elsewhere, staff at Liffey Valley shopping centre held a protest outside the centre against new parking measures that will cost them €2.50 a day.

Preparations are already underway in the home care sector to ensure that “lifesaving” equipment is not affected by potential winter blackouts.

UK chancellor Jeremy Hunt will today set out billions of pounds of savings to stabilise the public finances in an emergency statement.

And dramatic footage of lava flowing into the sea as the Stromboli volcano in Italy erupted was also captured over the weekend.

Have a good week everyone.
