Public servants #GE2020 poll
by Niall Shanahan

A number of regional media outlets picked up on a number of constituency-based protests by CE supervisors as they gear up to take industrial action on 14th February. Supervisors backed industrial action in a recent ballot.

As we enter the final week of the general election, polling has brought a few surprises, with Fine Gael now training its attack approach on Fianna Fáil as well as Sinn Féin, who polled yesterday as the most popular political party for voters under 55. For what it's worth, I've been getting my daily fix of election news from the Irish Times' Inside Politics Election Daily podcast. Entertaining as well as informative, and mercifully short.

Elsewhere, Ann Marie Walsh writes a Q&A about the state pension in the Indo, while the Irish Times reports on the teachers strike taking place tomorrow. Meanwhile, 1917 wins big at the Baftas, but Saoirse and Jessie were robbed.

Your Zen this morning is a humorous campaign video by Dublin South West candidate Ciarán Ahern. Do have a look HERE. In fairness to him, candidates who try humour rarely get it right, but this one manages to pull it off, with a little help from the latter third of comedy trio Foil, Arms & Hog (many...many years ago (2009) the same chap appeared in a campaign video for a trade union known as IMPACT).

Have a good week. Don't forget to vote on Saturday.
