Good morning colleagues, happy new decade.

As the new year gets underway, our School Secretaries branch have been busy making preparations for their one day strike action which is taking place this Friday, 10th January. Their demonstration on Saturday outside the Department of Education and Skills was reported in the Irish Times (click on the image above).

On Friday (3rd January), the message to the Government from public service unions in the absence of an agreed process to deal with pay and other issues was “If we can’t close this out at the start of the new year, we are into a very volatile industrial relation climate in the public service.”
