The Government is facing a confidence motion this morning following their decision to end the eviction ban.The motion was tabled by the Government after Labour sought to table a no-confidence motion and is being debated this morning.

Media reports continue to pick up on Fórsa’s instruction to driving testers at the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to only conduct driving tests in vehicles with valid NCT certification. The order came into effect from Monday, March 27.

Linda O'Sullivan, a special needs assistant and Fórsa representative called for a living allowance to be introduced for school staff who face impossible living costs. She argued that the Department of Education needs to introduce a living allowance in order to entice staff to work and stay in Dublin amid the housing and inflation crisis.

Elsewhere, Irish Independent publisher Mediahuis is seeking voluntary redundancies from editorial staff.

And new data from property listings website Daft.ie states asking prices for homes fell 0.3% between January and the end of March. This was despite an ongoing shortage of properties available to buy, with just 13,000 listed for sale as of March 1st .
