Minister Simon Harris survived his vote of no confidence with 58 votes to 53 and 37 abstentions last night.

Fórsa's Future of Working Time conference from last November is referenced, quoting Kevin Callinan as he told the delegation that "reduced working time was emerging as one of the central issues in international debates about the future of work." 

A Bill to give staff a legal right to their tips has passed Committee stage in the Seanad with all-party support. Once implemented, it will make it illegal for employers to take their workers' tips and ensure that employees are protected by the law. Trade unions highlighted this issue last week as they handed out leaflets urging customers to help ensure their tips actually go to the staff who serve them. 

Some more good news this morning; all An Post deliveries in Dublin City Centre will be made using zero emission vehicles by the end of the year as part of the company's efforts to battle climate change. It has also announced that zero emission postal deliveries to Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford will be in place by the end of 2020.

And finally, the latest in Ryanair sees the airline's directly employed pilots based in Belgium vote in favour of a collective labour agreement governing pay and conditions for the next four years.
