Owen Reidy has been ratified as the new General Secretary of ICTU. He takes over from Patricia King who stepped down from the post this month.

 

Only half of Ireland's swage was treated to EU environmental standards in 2021 according to the EPA's latest report. A multibillion-euro investment may be required to get the water plants up to scratch.

According to the Irish Independent two senior members of Irish dancing organisation An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG) have resigned after the body was embroiled in a global scandal over alleged cheating.

 

A study titled: ‘Comparator Report on Cancer in Ireland – Disease Burden, Costs and Access to Medicines’ suggests faster access to new medicines will be an important element of improving Ireland’s cancer survival rates. Ireland's current cancer survival rate lags behing other EU countries.
